What is DE Annual Recertification?

GLOW UP, Glendale Annual Distance Education Re-certification, has been negotiated per the May 2024 Guild MOU:

• Full-time faculty complete 3 hours of training in Distance Education pedagogy per year; part-time faculty complete 2 hours of DE pedagogy per year.

• Professor Fabiola Torres is GCC's DE Faculty Development Coordinator, appointed January 2025. Fabi designs, provides, and organizes DE Recertification trainings (synchronous and asynchronous).

• An MOU signed by the District and Guild has set the GADER hard deadline for academic year 2024-2025 as June 30th. Please look out for GADER trainings in the Vision Resource Center (VRC) and through @ONE.

  Access the GCC DE Certified Faculty List for a list of DE Certified Instructors. (Note: List has moved to a new platform in Spring 2026. You can now search by name or sort by division and completion status.)

  If you have completed your DE Recertification/GLOW UP hours, please submit transcripts, certificates of completion or screenshots showing completion using the following DE Recertification: Transcript Submission and Verification Form. Please allow us 1-2 weeks to update your records.

  If you still have hours to complete but intend to recertify by 6/30/26, please let us know by using the DE Recertification: Intent to Recertify Form. The intent to recertify is due to us by 3/15/26. Once you have completed your required hours, please use the DE Recertification: Transcript Submission & Verification Form.
