Enrollment Requirements

Your enrollment can affect the amount of financial aid you receive. Your aid is based on factors such as your enrollment status, eligible coursework, and participation in classes. Dropping, adding, or changing classes may result in adjustments to your financial aid, especially before or after the census date. Be sure to enroll only in courses that apply toward your eligible academic program and understand how late-start classes may affect your aid.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

Financial aid recipients are required to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards, including maintaining the minimum cumulative GPA, successfully completing enough of the courses they attempt (Pace), and finishing their program within the Maximum Time Frame. If you do not meet SAP standards, your financial aid eligibility may be affected. Understanding these requirements can help you stay on track and avoid losing your aid.

Enrollment Changes

Changing your schedule may impact your financial aid eligibility and future awards. If you drop or withdraw from classes, your financial aid may be reduced, canceled, or require repayment depending on when the change occurs. Withdrawing from all courses may also require the Financial Aid Office to calculate a Return of Title IV Funds, which could result in a balance owed to the college or the U.S. Department of Education. Contact the Financial Aid office to review your options before making changes to your enrollment.

Financial Aid Appeals

If unexpected circumstances affect your financial aid eligibility, you may have the opportunity to appeal. Depending on your situation, you may be eligible to submit a Financial Aid Appeal to request reconsideration of your eligibility. Review the different appeal options, eligibility requirements, required documentation, and submission deadlines before completing an appeal.

Reapply For Financial Aid Each Academic Year

Financial aid is not automatically renewed. To continue receiving financial aid, you must submit a new FAFSA or CADAA for each academic year and complete any additional requirements requested by the Financial Aid Office. Applications typically become available each October, and applying early helps ensure you receive the maximum consideration for available aid.
