The following are requirements to be eligible for a work study job through GCC CalWORKs:

• Enroll in 6 CREDIT units or more at GCC for the long semesters (Fall, Spring)
• Apply for Financial Aid (FAFSA) at GCC; request Federal Work Study on your FAFSA
• Complete all steps required by the GCC Financial Aid Office
• Current recipient of CalWORKs cash aid
• Available to work in person, 15 hours per week

Hiring for Winter/Spring 2026 has closed. If you are interested in a CalWORKs work-study position for future semesters, please check back here for more information. 

1. Complete the CalWORKs Parenting Students Program application for current term.
2. Submit current term CalWORKs cash aid verification of benefits to the CalWORKs office VOB email: cwvob@glendale.edu (verification must be dated no earlier than three weeks before the start of the current term)
3. Complete the CalWORKs student work study job application. 

You will be notified by GCC CalWORKs staff if you have been offered a work study job. Please do not contact the CalWORKs staff regarding the status of your work study application. 

Work study earnings are exempt from CalWORKs income calculations!
