CalFresh

Need Extra Money For Food?

If you need financial assistance to buy groceries, the CalFresh program can help. It is a nutrition assistance program sponsored by USDA that helps people purchase healthy foods. Benefits are loaded on an EBT card, which functions like a debit card that can be used at most grocery stores.

CalFresh Program Information(PDF)

A CalFresh Program Specialist will be here to help GCC students with on-site eligibility screening and to answer enrollment questions.

Drop by the Verdugo or the Garfield campus stations to get assistance with the CalFresh application process. For questions contact Cinthia Onoa directly at conoa@lafoodbank.org or (323) 974-2252. See drop-in schedule below.

PLEASE NOTE: Students need to contact the CalFresh representative directly to get help with application completion and document submission. EOPS does not provide information on CalFresh, nor does it collect student documentation.
