IN OUR ACCOUNT CLERK I PROGRAM, YOU WILL LEARN:

  • Accounting vocabulary and theory 
  • Equations to solve word problems
  • Simple and compound interest
  • Present value, consumer and business credit
  • Mortgages, financial statements and ratios,
  • Inventory, depreciation, business taxes and investments
  • Use of QuickBooks & Sage 50 software

OUR ACCOUNT CLERK I PROGRAM provides students the foundation and confidence needed to land an entry-level position in accounting or bookkeeping with a real potential to advance in responsibilities and salary as procedures and tasks are learned.  In addition, students completing this program will be well prepared to enter a college level accounting course and/or advancing to earn their Account Clerk II Certificate. 

The core requirements include NINE COURSES—NO ELECTIVES.

Take at any time, in any order:

  • STV 32 Business Writing: Memos
  • STV 34 Filing Fundamentals

After completing Business Math, take:

  • STV 90 Beginning MS Excel
  • STV 22 Beginning Account Clerk (self-paced)

Final course:

  • STV 40 21st Century Employment Strategies
