Academic Rank

Academic Ranking is a celebration of personal and professional achievement and a commitment to the GCC community. It appropriately establishes the professor’s position in the academic community, enhances professional and academic prestige, and increases the reputation of the college. Academic Ranking is strictly an honorary title bestowed by the Academic Senate under its authority. It is not attached to salary, nor is it a merit plan for increased salary or benefits.

Period to apply usually occurs at the end of the Spring semester, and is announced by the Academic Rank Committee.

Criteria is set forth in Administrative Regulation 7220: Academic Rank
