If you’ve attended a non-U.S. high school where English wasn’t the main language-of-instruction, or if your primary language spoken has not been English, you may find the ESL pathway is a better option for you.

  • Courses in Levels 3, 4, and 5 are transfer-level.
  • Courses in Levels 1 and 2 are pre-transfer level and may have corequisites. Speaking with a counselor is recommended.

To help determine which level of ESL course is right for you, GCC faculty have developed an ESL placement tool.
