This certificate is designed to prepare non-native English speakers to succeed in Language and Communication academic and career pathways. Students completing this certificate have achieved academic English skills at an advanced, postsecondary level. They have also achieved success in prerequisite or introductory coursework in a variety of degree, certificate, or general education patterns.

The Certificate is granted to students who have completed at least 12 semester units of the required courses at Glendale Community College. All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better, or a “P” grade.

Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, the student will use English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills at an advanced level of academic proficiency; and apply content knowledge of chosen electives in order to select a degree and/or career pathway.
