This certificate provides students with practical and hands on opportunities to learn the skills necessary to gain employment as an audio technician in the live entertainment industry. Students train on industry standard audio equipment in classroom and lab situations, as well as gain experience working as audio technicians for the set up, take down, and running of live events.

The Certificate is granted to students who have completed the requisite units outlined in the major requirements with at least 6 semester units of the required courses at Glendale Community College. All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better, or a “P” grade.

Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to demonstrate the skills to become an all around audio technician in the field of live events; develop an understanding of sound equipment found in the live entertainment industry; display an understanding of the distribution and networking of live event sound equipment; and acquire a working knowledge of audio software used in the live entertainment industry.
