This certificate is designed to prepare nonnative English speakers to succeed in various academic and career pathways. Students completing this certificate will have achieved academic English skills at a high‐intermediate level as well as taken foundational coursework in student development.

The Certificate is granted to students who have completed at least 12 semester units of the required courses at Glendale Community College. All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better, or a “P” grade.

Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to use English reading, writing, and speaking skills at an advanced level of proficiency; apply academic skills required to succeed in college; and choose a potential career pathway.
