Management II

This certificate program offers students exposure to the five essential functions of a manager: planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling, providing students with a foundation in strategic and operational management practices. Students will develop listening skills crucial for effective leadership and teamwork, enabling them to foster stronger interpersonal relationships and facilitate better decision-making processes. The certificate program equips students with the necessary tools to plan, deliver, and evaluate various types and lengths of speeches and oral presentations, fostering confidence in their communication abilities and preparing them to convey ideas persuasively to diverse audiences.

The Certificate is granted to students who have completed the requisite units outlined in the major requirements with at least 6 semester units of the required courses at Glendale Community College. All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better, or a “P” grade.

Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to describe the key functions of management (planning, organizing, leading, and controlling) and implement them in real-world business scenarios to improve organizational efficiency; practice effective listening strategies in team settings, contributing to better collaboration and conflict resolution; and plan and present structured oral presentations, adapting to diverse audience needs and evaluating their effectiveness in a business environment.
