This certificate is designed for students who need the marketing basics and are planning beginning careers in marketing, advertising, retailing, and sales. Students will learn to recognize and develop an appreciation for customer need, understand and apply the four P’s of marketing: Product, Price, Place (distribution), and Promotion, and develop a basic marketing plan and implement a strategy.

The Certificate is granted to students who have completed the requisite units outlined in the major requirements with at least 6 semester units of the required courses at Glendale Community College. All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better, or a “P” grade.

Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to recognize and develop an appreciation for customer need; understand and apply the four P’s of marketing: Product, Price, Place (distribution), and Promotion; and develop a basic marketing plan and implement a strategy.
