This certificate is designed to help students entering the music field. Students will develop musical artistry and proficiency, learn to analyze and recognize musical patterns, and gain a breadth of knowledge of our diverse musical world. These music courses are designed to help students think, create, and collaborate in a critical, expressive, and articulate manner.

The Certificate is granted to students who have completed the requisite units outlined in the major requirements with at least 6 semester units of the required courses at Glendale Community College. All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better, or a “P” grade.

Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to demonstrate intermediate to advanced keyboard proficiency; perform solo piano repertoire from a variety of musical cultures and time periods; and produce performances of piano repertoire from a variety of musical cultures and time periods
