Upon completion of the AS-T in Nutrition and Dietetics, students will have a strong academic foundation in the field and be prepared for upper division baccalaureate study. Students who have completed the AS-T in Nutrition and Dietetics will have satisfied the lower division requirements for transfer into Nutrition and Dietetics or a similar major for many campuses in the California State University system. Please consult a GCC counselor regarding specific course requirements for your transfer institution.

Requirements to earn an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT): Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University, including both of the following: The California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC). 1. A minimum of 18 semester units or 27 quarter units in the major or area of emphasis with a grade of C or better. A “P” (Pass) grade is also an acceptable grade for courses in the major or area of emphasis. 2. Obtainment of a minimum grade point average of 2.0.

Program Learning Outcomes: Upon Completion of this program, students will be able to evaluate nutrition-related scientific concepts and methods; appraise and correlate food composition to nutrition and health; and examine the functions and impact of nutrients in physiological processes of disease and health.
