Graduation Requirements

AA and AS Requirements

General Information

Glendale Community College shall confer the degree of Associate of Arts or Associate of Science upon a student who has satisfactorily completed all of the requirements for graduation.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 60 degree applicable units, with a completion of the courses required in the major with a grade of “C” or better, or a “P” grade
  • The student has achieved a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all units attempted in pursuit of the degree/certificate
  • The AA or AS degree is granted to students who file a Petition for Graduation in the Office of Admissions and Records who are not on academic probation and have completed 12 semester units of the required college curriculum of 60 degree applicable semester units at Glendale Community College.

General Education may be completed by one of the following:

When a course required for a major is also an approved general education course, the course may be double-counted. However, units are only counted once to satisfy the 60-unit requirement for the AA or AS degree. Courses appearing in more than one area may be used to satisfy only one area. Courses with an (*) are approved in the corresponding Cal-GETC area.
