Career Adventures is a series of workshops designed to help students explore their interests, identify their career paths, and take action toward next steps in their journey. There are three different phases from which students can choose, depending on where they are in the career exploration process. Phase I helps undecided students assess and evaluate values and goals. Phase II digs deeper and helps students clarify and solidify their goals. Phase III focuses on helping decided students explore ways to enhance their resumes and build their skills beyond the classroom.

Career Adventures is an activity-based series that engages participants throughout the entire process. This program also aims to connect students to campus resources and services to ultimately ensure participants continue seeking experiences and opportunities to enhance their pathways while at GCC.

Students can participate in one, two or all three phases, depending on their career exploration goals and needs.

Phase I is intended for students who are undecided. This phase provides students with an opportunity to explore their values and learn about the various factors that impact the career decision-making process, including personality, culture, interests, and strengths.

Phase I provides the following outcomes for participants:

  • An understanding of how values and careers can be aligned.
  • An understanding of how identity intersects with choice of major and the career journey.
