FiLatino Fiesta

Tuesday, October 15th from 11am-2pm in the Vaquero Plaza

This event is a celebration of culture for Filipina/o/x and Latina/o/x community to come together and share in a celebration of both cultures, recognize the overlap of cultural traditions, cultural foods, and historical impact of Spanish colonialism on Latin America and the Philippines. This event is in recognition of both Filipinx American Heritage Month and Latinx Heritage Month.

10/2/2025: Filipinx Voices Short Films Screening

12:30pm-1:30pm in San Gabriel 334

Join GCC’s own Film and Media Arts Instructor, Carley Steiner, for an on- campus event celebrating short films. A curated series of short films by Filipino/a/x Filmmakers will be screened, followed by a discussion to think critically about the storytelling techniques, cultural influences, and historical contexts. 

10/26/2024: Solidarity Silog Larry Itliong Day

8:30am-9:30AM at the Sierra Vista Plaza

In recognition of Larry Itliong, Filipino American labor organizer and civil rights activist, who played a key role in founding of United Farm Workers union. In collaboration with FASA we remember and celebrate the lasting impact Itliong left especially in organizing and activist communities with a Solitary Silog with traditional Filipino breakfast among community.

Join us for a gathering of community, local organizations, clothes, craft vendors, and live performances.
