Teaching a person valuable skills can be more beneficial in the long run than filling a need for them temporarily; that’s the meaning of this proverb and an integral part of her teaching philosophy. Professor DerBedrossian’s goal as an instructor is to empower and support her students in learning English and finding a successful career in the United States.
