Leadership Experience
Department Chair of Home Economics Department for over 25 years at Glendale High School.
Oversaw the creation of a Bistro Program at Glendale High serving the community, staff
and fellow students with events up to 500 guests.
Oversaw the complete remodel of cooking classrooms into a state of the art culinary
facility with probably the only walk in refrigerator at a high school in the state
of California.
Wrote Grants totaling over 350 Thousand dollars from State of California; awarded
for the construction of a large kitchen garden and second culinary classroom with
wall mounted TV monitors and camera
Worked to develop the Course Outline for the County of Los Angeles ROP program in
Food Service Occupations that align with both post-secondary institutions and industry
based certifications.
Actively involved in student Competitions for C-CAP, Prostart, and Project ECHO (sponsored
by UCLA Anderson School of business.)
Service or Volunteer Experience
Currently serve on the Board of Careers in Culinary Arts Programs: awards full and
partial scholarships to disadvantaged youths to attend culinary schools nationwide
as well as mentorship programs, internships and food donations to culinary programs.

Chef owner of catering business over 30 years
Chef instructor at Le Cordon Bleu Pasadena before coming to teach at GCC
