Professor Andre Yefremian is a Cultural Anthropologist with research interests that include national and ethnic identity construction, the human perception of health and illness, sustainability, and globalization. His primary geographic focus is on the European Union.

Trained in the four fields of anthropology (cultural, linguistic, biological and archaeological), Professor Yefremian has taught courses in cultural anthropology, archaeology, biological anthropology lecture and lab, medical anthropology, and women's studies (sex and gender).

Professor Yefremian has been with Glendale Community College since 2006 and has taught in K-12, University of California, California State University, and private university. He presents at academic conferences and guest lectures internationally on topics related to his research interests. Besides his teaching positions, Professor Yefremian is also the Treasurer of the Southwestern Anthropological Association, which is a professional organization of anthropologists promoting academic research, publications, conferences and networking.

Anthropology can apply to any one whether its related to their major, profession, or personal life. Each student taking anthropology will find relevance in it immediately and into the future. All aspects of humanity are covered within anthropological studies, whether its about their biological nature, behaviors, learning abilities, communication, making sense of the world around them, how order is maintained, technology, eating habits, family, and relationships.
