The Cal Grant is a California financial aid program that helps eligible students pay for college. If you need to update your Cal Grant record, use the Grant Record Change Form for Students to request changes such as changing your school of attendance, requesting a leave of absence, updating your personal information, changing your Cal Grant program, or withdrawing your award. Expand the sections below to find the appropriate form section for your request.

Glendale Community College automatically submits GPA Verifications to the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) for students who have successfully completed at least 16 transferable units at GCC. In most cases, no action is required. If a GPA Verification is needed and cannot be submitted electronically by GCC, the Financial Aid Office will provide additional guidance.

To update your personal information, complete Section 1 of the Grant Record Change Form for Students.

You can use this section to request changes to your:

  • Name
  • Social Security Number (SSN) or Dream Act ID
  • Date of birth
  • Mailing address

Note: Address changes, school changes, and leave of absence requests can also be completed online through WebGrants 4 Students, so you don't need to submit the paper form for those requests.

If you need to change the school where you plan to use your Cal Grant, complete Section 2 of the Grant Record Change Form for Students.

You'll need to provide:

  • Your new school's name
  • The city where the school is located
  • The effective term and date of the change

Note: A change in school may affect your Cal Grant eligibility.

If you need to temporarily pause your enrollment, complete Section 3 of the Grant Record Change Form for Students.

You'll need to provide:

  • The school you most recently attended
  • The last term you attended
  • The dates and terms for your requested leave of absence
  • The reason for your leave

If you're a new Cal Grant recipient and no payments have been made, you may request a change from one Cal Grant program to another (for example, Cal Grant B to Cal Grant A).

To request a program change:

  • Complete Section 4 of the Grant Record Change Form for Students.
  • Have your school's financial aid officer sign the form.

If you have a Cal Grant C and want to decline it to be considered for a different Cal Grant program, complete Section 5 instead.

Note: Program changes are only available to new recipients before any Cal Grant payments have been issued.

If you want to permanently withdraw your Cal Grant award, complete Section 5 of the Grant Record Change Form for Students.

Before submitting your request, keep in mind:

  • Your Cal Grant award will be withdrawn.
  • Once withdrawn, your award cannot be reinstated.
  • You'll be asked to provide a reason for your withdrawal.

Award changes are processed by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC), not Glendale Community College.

Submit the completed form directly to StudentSupport@csac.ca.gov.

Processing times are determined by CSAC. Students should monitor their WebGrants 4 Students (WG4S) account for updates regarding their request.
