Contract Dismissal

A Contract Dismissal Appeal is assigned to students who did not meet one or more of the conditions of their approved Financial Aid Academic Contract. This may occur if you:

  • Did not successfully complete a course included on your Academic Contract.
  • Dropped or withdrew from a contract course.
  • Enrolled in courses that were not included on your approved Academic Contract.

As a result, you are no longer eligible to receive financial aid under the terms of your contract. If circumstances beyond your control prevented you from meeting the terms of your Academic Contract, you may submit a Contract Dismissal Appeal. Eligibility may be reconsidered if your appeal is approved.

 

How to Complete Your Appeal

Use the Student Forms Login link in the Quick Links box on the right side of this page to access Student Forms.

  • Log in using only your student ID number. Do not include "GCCS\" before your student ID number (example: use username, not GCCS\username).
  • If you are having issues logging into the GCC Portal, please contact the Help Desk at 818-240-1000 x4357 for assistance.

Once you're logged in, use the menu on the left side of the page to navigate to the Needs Action page.

  • Click on the Contract Dismissal Appeal form.
  • Ex: "Contract Dismissal - Summer"

Your appeal must include:

  • A detailed statement explaining the circumstances that prevented you from meeting the terms of your Academic Contract.
  • A clear explanation of what has changed and how you plan to successfully meet the requirements of a new Academic Contract moving forward.
  • A copy of your previously approved Student Educational Plan (SEP) on which your Academic Contract was based.
  • Upload any required supporting documentation.

Important

  • Once your form is complete, click Submit to finish the process.

All appeals are reviewed individually. Submission of an appeal does not guarantee approval. If your appeal is approved, your financial aid eligibility may be reinstated under a new or revised Academic Contract.
