How Do I Register to Vote?

To register online, you will need the following information:

  • California driver’s license or California identification card number
  • Last four digits of your social security number
  • Date of birth

Note: If you do not have a driver’s license or identification card, you can still register. You will need to verify your identity when voting for the first time.

What if I miss the deadline? Can I still vote?

Yes, you can register on California’s Election Day.  If you are registering or re-registering less than 14 days before an election you will need to complete the Same-Day Voter Registration process and request your ballot in person at your county elections office or Vote Center.

Where is my Polling Place?

Because of the Voter's Choice Act every registered voter in participating counties will be delivered a ballot 28 days before Election Day to return through the mail, drop box locations or at a Vote Center.
