BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

  • The purpose of a flyer is to communicate important information clearly and quickly while being visually pleasing. Avoid using too much information and using low-quality photos.
  • Consider who your primary and secondary audiences might be (students, parents, community
members, etc.). Share information they may be looking for.
  • Please stay within the brand guidelines - glendale.edu/BrandGuidelines.

Best Practices

GCC Flyer Best Practices 1

1. The GCC logo (high-resolution JPEG or PDF) should always be placed in the upper left corner

Cear, recognizable, and no smaller than 1.5” in width.

2. Feature images of students when possible!

Use high-resolution, well-lit photos with students smiling and/or participating. Use no more than three photos. Photos of equipment or objects related to the topic work just as well.

NO CLIP ART!

3. Text/information should be placed from most important to least important.

Header/Title will be your largest and boldest text. It will catch the audiences’ attention. It could be the title of a presentation or class name. At least 24 point approved font

Date/Time/Class Number will be smaller than the header and larger than additional information. At least 16 points

Additional details, like number of units or, if this is a presentation, the speaker’s biography, should be done in a smaller font. At least 12 points

Contact information and/or web address
At least 10 points
