About our Department

Our courses* and programs are built as a "Stackable Curriculum Model" – which allows students to enroll one course or multiple courses at a time, then "stack" each course, to obtain a skill award, and stack the award with more courses to receive a certificate or a transferable degree toward a raise, promotion or a position in a new company.

I can not express how grateful I am for the GCC certificate program in Medical Office Administration. I am at the end of my Medical Coding Assistant program and could not be more excited to start a new career and see what the future holds. The thing I will remember most about this experience is the amount of support and encouragement that I received throughout the program. Professor Perera and all the teachers in the MOA programs are amazing and I can't thank them enough for helping me in my journey to a new career!"

I look forward to earning a certificate in Medical Billing and Coding in Spring 21. At GCC, I was able to find an Internship and Employment opportunity through Career Services in only one day! To search for these opportunities, I used our online job board: College Central Network. I was employed in a retail store while attending school. Now I’m excited to work in my field of study! I feel happy to have had the opportunity to start my employment experience before my graduation.  I would like to thank the GCC Career Services staff and Instructors for their support.”

I have graduated the Medical Billing and Coding program in 2021. This program helped me grow in the field that I am working in now. Because of the material I learned in this program, in just 2 years, I have gradually gone from a front desk/ receptionist to a site manager in a medical facility.”

I finished all prerequisites. And met with my counselor Mrs. R. Dominguez, and she informed me about the MOA program. I began taking classes with Professor S. Perera and she encouraged me to tell my story to other women so they can take classes in this area of hospital service. GCC MOA program made it possible for me to believe in myself.”
