About the EOPS Program

GCC's EOPS program serves students who have been affected by economic, language, social and educational barriers. We are here to support you to belong, believe, and become the graduate you want to be.

  • Scholarship and Job Recommendations
  • Care Program Services for Solo Parenting Students
  • Foster Youth Support Services for current and former foster youth students

  1. Be a California resident or AB 540 Dreamer as determined by GCC Admissions and Records Office
  2. Be enrolled in 12 or more units when accepted into the program.
    • Current or Former Foster Youth, DSPS students, and single parenting students may be eligible with fewer units.
  3. Have completed fewer than 70 units of degree-applicable credit courses.
  4. Qualify for CCPG A, B, and C ($0 EFC)
  5. Meet GCC's criteria for educationally disadvantaged.

  2. Click on Other Services
  3. Click on My EOPS Application
  4. COMPLETE and SUBMIT

NOTE: Check your application status in MyEOPS/CARE one business day after you apply.

About the CARE Program

WE BELIEVE IN YOU.

The CARE Program celebrates the strength and resilience of solo parenting students. At GCC, you don’t have to navigate school and family on your own, because CARE connects you with resources, advocacy, and a supportive community of student-parents who understand your journey. We honor the powerful skills you bring and walk beside you with encouragement and tools to help you thrive in college and beyond.

  • Special Workshops for Single Parents
  • CARE Grants
  • CARE Meal Cards
  • CARE Transportation Cards

  • Admitted to EOPS
  • Current recipient of CalWORKs cash aid for themselves and/or their dependent child (ren)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Single head of household
  • Must apply for Financial Aid
  • Pursue an educational goal which leads to a certificate, degree or transfer

  1. Turn in the EOPS admission application.
  2. Complete and submit the CARE supplemental eligibility screening form as requested by the CARE program staff.

About the Foster Youth Support Program

You Belong Here

At Glendale Community College, we are committed to walking alongside current and former foster youth as you pursue your academic and career goals. Through EOPS Foster Youth services, you’ll find a community that believes in your potential and provides the resources, guidance, and encouragement you deserve.

As part of EOPS, Foster Youth students receive additional support tailored to your unique experiences and needs. Our goal is to make sure you don’t have to navigate college alone.

Services may include:

  • Counseling & Advising – academic, career, and personal support
  • Priority Registration – so you can get the classes you need
  • Book Vouchers & Supplies – to ease financial stress
  • Workshops & Peer Mentoring – build skills, confidence, and connections
  • Referrals to Campus & Community Resources – including housing, health, and financial assistance

You may qualify if you are:

  • A current or former foster youth (documented by county or court)
  • Enrolled at GCC and eligible for EOPS
  • Open to building a partnership with counselors and mentors who want to see you succeed

  1. Apply to EOPS
  2. Check the box indicating you are a current or former foster youth.
  3. Submit any requested documentation.
  4. Meet with an EOPS counselor to complete your educational plan and learn about services.
