Things to do before applying to EOPS

Continuing EOPS students do not need to reapply each semester, unless they are exited from the program. Students who leave school or EOPS due to extenuating circumstances may reapply to the program if all the eligibility criteria continue to be met.

After you submit your application, please allow one business day before you check your application status on MyGCC > Other Services > EOPS/CARE Application Status. Please allow two to three business days for processing.

STEP 1: YOU'VE APPLIED FOR EOPS AND YOUR APPLICATION STATUS IS PENDING

During this time, check your application status to seeif there are notes requesting you submit additional documents. While waiting for the application to be processed, go ahead and complete your EOPS Program Admission Orientation and Quiz.

If it has been more than 3 days since you have submitted your EOPS application, and your application status has not changed from PENDING to either PROCESSED or DENIED, call our EOPS staff at (818) 240-1000 ext. 5564 to get more information.

STEP 2: APPLICATION OUTCOME

If you qualify for the EOPS program, your application status will be "PROCESSED." (Please see sample 1 below.) Our staff will reach out to you to schedule your first EOPS counseling appointment. Please arrive at least five minutes early for your appointment, and let us know 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel.

If you do not qualify for the EOPS Program, look for a note from our staff explaining the reason. (Please see sample 2 below.)
